About Litmus

Building trust infrastructure for Kenya's land market.

Our Mission

Litmus exists to reduce the risk and uncertainty that surrounds land transactions in Kenya. For too long, buyers, lenders, and developers have had to navigate a fragmented landscape of court records, gazette notices, and registry information — with no reliable way to bring it all together before committing capital.

We are building the intelligence layer that sits between public legal records and the people who need to make informed decisions about land. By systematically extracting, structuring, and analyzing information from court judgments, gazette publications, and other public sources, Litmus provides a clearer picture of any parcel's legal standing.

Our goal is straightforward: make it possible for anyone — whether an individual buyer in Nairobi, a Kenyan living abroad, or a bank evaluating collateral — to understand the risks associated with a piece of land before making a decision they cannot undo.

The Problem We Solve

Land disputes are one of the most persistent challenges in Kenya. The cost is not only financial — it affects families, communities, and the economy. Critical information exists in public records, but accessing and interpreting it remains a significant barrier.
